Contract - Logistics Operations Coordinator

The Logistics Operations Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operational oversight of warehouse and logistics activities at the COE Lab and Technology Center. This role ensures accurate inventory management, efficient order fulfillment, and timely shipping operations, while providing support for network shipment orders, field logistics of capital goods, and service part logistics management, as well as Level 1 and Level 2 safety event logistics. The specialist identifies and implements process improvements to optimize efficiency and productivity, and performs additional duties as required to support lab operations and logistics initiatives.

This role requires hands-on oversight, strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail to maintain high standards of safety, accuracy, and operational excellence. The role also involves frequent movement and transport of materials, typically up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 60 lbs.

Role Responsibilities

Main responsibility – assign % of time spent

Warehouse Operations and Inventory Management – 35%

• Oversee all daily warehouse activities of the COE Lab and Technology Center, including receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control
• Manage warehouse layout and space utilization to optimize efficiency and productivity
• Implement and maintain best practices in warehouse safety, cleanliness, and organization
• Maintain accurate inventory records and investigate discrepancies
• Implement and maintain cycle count procedures to ensure inventory accuracy
• Conduct physical inventory counts and regular inventory audits, reconciling discrepancies

Support for Network Shipment Orders – 20%

• Provide supporting logistics oversight for network shipment orders, including order fulfillment management, order exceptions management, IFS logistics routing data management, warehouse transfer order support, and bad-on-hand order support

Safety Event Logistics Support – 10%

• Provide logistics support for Level 1 and Level 2 safety events, ensuring rapid response, coordination, and execution of all warehouse and shipping activities to support event resolution

Continuous Improvement – 10%

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness
• Analyze warehouse performance data and identify areas for improvement

Other Duties – 5%

• Perform other duties as assigned by management to support lab operations and logistics initiatives

Years of Relevant Experience

3+ years in Supply Chain Logistics and/or relevant operations and data analytics experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain or related field

Specialized Skills - Required

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
• 3–5 years warehouse experience, including supervisory or team lead responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and best practices
• Proficient with WMS, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to build daily inventory and operational reports using multiple tools
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Forklift certification required

Specialized Skills - Desired

• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
• Exposure to multi-site or networked warehouse operations
• Experience designing and executing efficient returns and reverse logistics processes
• Experience creating scalable process documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Experience managing relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs)
• APICS certifications, including Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
