Requires strong finance background, experience with AI/automation or advanced analytics, stakeholder engagement, and executive-level communication skills.
Description
Looking for an opportunity to redefine FP&A?
At Leidos, we deliver innovative solutions through the efforts of our diverse and talented people who are dedicated to our customers’ success. Our Mission, Vision, and Values guide the way we do business as we modernize how we operate, decide, and deliver value.
Are you ready to lead the future of FP&A?
Leidos is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to join the Homeland Sector FP&A team as a change agent for an AI-first FP&A culture. This role goes beyond traditional financial analysis—you will help redesign how FP&A operates by embedding artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced analytics into the core of financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and decision support.
In this role, you will own the transformation of FP&A workflows, leveraging AI to eliminate manual processes, accelerate insight generation, improve forecast accuracy, and elevate financial storytelling for senior leadership. You will partner closely with business leaders, IT, and analytics teams to identify, pilot, and scale AI-enabled solutions that fundamentally change how financial information is produced and consumed.
Success in this role requires someone who is comfortable challenging legacy processes, experimenting responsibly with emerging technologies, and translating AI-driven outputs into trusted, actionable insights for executives.
This position is ideal for a finance professional who sees AI not as a tool, but as a new operating model for FP&A.
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as a change leader for an AI-first FP&A operating model, redefining how planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting are performed
Identify, design, pilot, and scale AI-enabled automation across FP&A, including forecasting, variance analysis, financial narratives, and leadership reporting
Eliminate manual, spreadsheet-driven processes by deploying intelligent automation and advanced analytics
Transform financial and operational data into predictive, forward-looking insights using AI, machine learning, and advanced visualization
Lead key components of Sector planning, forecasting, and long-range financial analysis
Partner with functional leaders and senior leadership to embed AI-driven insights into decision-making and accountability
Manage approvals and Insight hierarchy
Lead indirect rate planning, forecasting, analysis, and executive-level messaging
Drive continuous improvement in FP&A governance, tools, and processes through innovation and automation
Support month-end and quarter-end close while continuously reducing cycle time through automation
Lead CapEx and investment planning, forecasting and performance tracking
Build trust and credibility with non-finance stakeholders by clearly explaining financial performance and impact
Why This Role Is Different
You will shape the future of FP&A, not inherit the past
You will be empowered to experiment, pilot, and scale AI solutions
You will influence how leaders think, decide, and plan using finance as a strategic lever
You will help establish a repeatable AI-first FP&A model that can scale across the enterprise
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience (or 6+ years with a Master’s degree)
Strong FP&A background with demonstrated success leading process transformation and modernization
Proven ability to leverage AI, automation, or advanced analytics to improve financial processes, insight quality, and decision speed
Experience translating complex, AI-driven analyses into clear, trusted recommendations for senior leadership
Experience supporting multiple contract types (FFP, FP LOE, T&M, Cost Plus, hybrid)
Advanced analytical, communication, and executive-level presentation skills
Strong understanding of revenue recognition and commercial financial processes
Experience with Power BI dashboards and data models
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience applying generative AI, predictive analytics, or intelligent automation within finance or FP&A
