**JJob Title: Maintenance Mechanic**
**Position Overview**
We are seeking a highly skilled **Maintenance Mechanic** to join our manufacturing operations team. This role is essential to maintaining the performance, reliability, and safety of production equipment and machinery. The Maintenance Mechanic will focus on mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and ensure production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical systems, a strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics, and the ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
+ Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures in machinery such as conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and production lines.
+ Conduct mechanical repairs, part replacements, and adjustments to restore equipment functionality.
+ Implement modifications and upgrades to improve equipment performance and reliability.
+ Assist with the installation, alignment, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
+ Conduct performance and efficiency tests on machinery to verify proper operation.
+ Perform line equipment setups according to setup sheets and production requirements.
+ Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety protocols at all times.
+ Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Technical or vocational training in mechanical or electrical maintenance.
+ 1-3 years of experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems maintenance.
+ Experience with industrial equipment such as CNC machines, presses, or automated production lines.
+ Skills in troubleshooting PLCs, pneumatics, and interpreting industrial schematics.
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
**Work Environment & Schedule**
+ Indoor manufacturing facility operating on a three-shift schedule.
+ Shifts include:
+ **1st Shift:** 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
+ **2nd Shift:** 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
+ **3rd Shift:** 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
+ Initial training will be conducted on the 1st shift for the first month.
+ Work involves hands-on mechanical repairs, equipment inspections, and collaboration with production teams in a dynamic environment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roanoke, VA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $28.00/hr.
