Commercial Electrician
Job Description
This role involves installing security system wiring in an industrial facility, with a strong focus on safely running and pulling wire from a scissor lift during overnight shifts. You will use your commercial electrical experience, blueprint reading skills, and conduit bending abilities to help complete a time-sensitive project by mid-July.
Responsibilities
- Run and pull electrical wire throughout an industrial facility for a security system installation.
- Install and route conduit and cable according to project specifications and electrical standards.
- Operate a scissor lift safely to perform overhead wiring and conduit work at height.
- Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to determine wiring paths and installation requirements.
- Use basic hand and power tools to cut, bend, and install conduit and cable.
- Perform cable installation, including measuring, cutting, labeling, and securing wiring and components.
- Follow all site safety procedures while working overnight in a locked facility.
- Report directly to the job site each shift and prepare necessary tools and equipment for nightly work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all tools and materials are properly stored.
- Collaborate with other on-site personnel to ensure the project stays on schedule and meets quality standards.
- 1–3 years of experience as a commercial electrician.
- 1–3 years of experience pulling wire in commercial or industrial environments.
- Proficiency in running and pulling electrical wiring for systems installations.
- Hands-on experience with conduit installation and conduit bending.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency in cable installation, including routing and securing cable.
- Experience operating a scissor lift safely and confidently.
- Comfort working at heights while on a lift.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools required for electrical work.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction practices in commercial or industrial settings.
- Apprentice or journeyman electrician license preferred.
- Experience working in industrial facilities.
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.
- Reliable transportation to report directly to the job site.

Work Environment
Work takes place in an industrial facility in Winchester, VA, during overnight hours from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. You will report directly to the job site each shift and work inside a locked facility for the duration of the night. The role requires frequent use of a scissor lift and regular work at heights. You will use standard electrical tools and equipment, including basic hand and power tools, while working around industrial infrastructure. Bringing your own lunch is necessary, as you will remain on-site throughout the shift.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
