Medical Technologist

Medical Technologist needed in at a South Carolina hospital located between Charleson and Savanah.

This non-for-profit community hospital is affiliated with MUSC and provides a full scope of medical services, including an intensive care unit (ICU), along with 24-hour emergency care, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging, and a full-service laboratory. The hospital also provides innovative healthcare at the facility that includes Telehealth as well as a surgery department, cardiopulmonary care, rehabilitative services, and diabetic wellness.

As a Medical Technologist or Medical laboratory Technician , you will be working with a supportive team you need for work-life balance.

The lab team is looking for generalists but would consider candidates that have experience in Blood Banking and Microbiology. As an MT/MLT you must be comfortable working alone when needed. You will be working in a Core Lab setting that has Urine analysis, Blood banking, Chemistry, and Hematology. They also do Blood Culture staining and send it out to another lab for most all Microbiology. As a MT/MLT you must be proficient in working manuals such as UA drug screen, gram staining, mononucleosis, strep screen, urine pregnancy, ESR, and blood banking and automation.

Must:

• Be a Graduate from an accredited Applied Science program with and with an Associate or Bachelors degree.
• Be ASCP American Society for Clinical Pathology or AMT American Medical Technologist Certified.
• Have at least 1 year of experience working as an MT/ MLT in a hospital or reference lab setting.
• Be a team player that can wear multiple hats in the laboratory.
• Be able to troubleshoot equipment and do routine maintenance.
