Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU position requiring 2+ years of Pre-Op/Post-Op/PACU experience, Epic proficiency, and a VA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in a hospital setting with 16 beds
• Patient population ranges from 6 months to geriatric
• Patient ratio is 2:1
• Preferred skills include titrating drips and experience with TAVR and cardiac to procedural cases
• Epic EMR is required
• Day shift: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend requirement: one weekend per month (Saturday/Sunday), two 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• On-call requirement: second call one weekend per month, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Floating required to sister units as needed and to an on-campus surgery center as case volume shifts
• 26-week contract

Requirements

• Active VA state RN license or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS — no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Minimum 2 years of Pre-Op, Post-Op, and PACU RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• US SSN required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible

• Provides post-anesthesia recovery care across a diverse patient population, from pediatric to geriatric
• Navy scrubs required per Valley Health dress code policy
• Christmas Eve and Christmas Day holiday coverage preferred
• Winchester, VA is located in the Shenandoah Valley, approximately 2 hours from Washington, D.C., offering outdoor recreation, dining, wineries, breweries, and cultural attractions
