Richmond, Virginia Area: Full Benefits, Paid Vacation. Salary: $98,000 to $100,000. This is NOT a Temporary Role or a Contract. It is a full time role where you ARE the employee of the company. They are well established with sites in multiple states. VERY team-focused culture and management style. You would manage and assist multiple Maintenance Technicians throughout the plant there, just ten minutes (CLOSE) to Richmond. It's a suburb of Richmond.

Description

A Maintenance Manager oversees all aspects of the installation, repair, and upkeep of the company’s equipment and facilities. This position will manage the maintenance personnel responsible for ensuring the operation meets customer’s expectations. The ideal candidate should have a proven background of continuous improvement and ability to lead the department to consistently higher standards.

A solid understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, as well as a level of millwork skills and the understanding of the quality aspects required to meet customer specifications is a must. This individual should be well-versed in all maintenance processes and health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will also have aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting, etc.

Very hands-on collaborative manager that works 80% on the floor.

• Develop both maintenance and quality processes and procedures, and conduct required training in the implementation of these practices.
• Carry out inspections of the product, equipment, and facilities to identify and resolve issues.
• Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
• Maintain equipment in working order, with minimum downtime.
• Ensure we continue to meet or exceed customer quality expectations.
• Allocate workload and supervise maintenance team members.
• Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
• Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance.
• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
• Keep both quality and maintenance logs and report on daily activities on the Emaint operating system.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is acceptable; or a degree from a vocational school or a BS/BA in Business Administration or facility management is a plus (but not required).
• Proven experience as a maintenance manager or another engineering managerial role.
• Solid understanding of technical aspects of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, as well as a level of millwork skills.
• Working knowledge of facilities, machines, and equipment.
• Ability to keep track of and report on activity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
