The Position

Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach, this position is responsible for assisting in all facets of our Women’s Lacrosse program. In addition to lacrosse technique and tactics teaching/coaching, duties include development of student-athletes and recruitment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the athletic development of student-athletes within the men’s lacrosse program.

o Individual, small group and team skills training

o Individual, small group and team tactics teaching/coaching

• Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the academic success of student-athletes within the program.

o Meets with student-athletes individually to insure academic accountability

o Provides counsel to help student-athletes navigate the rigors of collegiate academic work

o Develops and articulates a working knowledge of on and on campus support services available

• Assists the head coach in the college’s efforts to foster the personal growth of student-athletes within the program.

o Develops and articulates a working knowledge of on and on campus student-health support services available

o Meets with student-athletes on an as needed basis

• Assists the head coach in executing an active college community relations program leading to the positive promotion of the women’s lacrosse program and its student athletes.
• Represents the Department and Student Affairs Division in the College Community, developing relationships conducive to program and departmental success.
• Participates in our efforts to recruit qualified student-athletes for the men’s lacrosse program.
• Serves as a manager for selected athletic events.
• Carries out other duties as assigned by the Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities :

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One to three years of intercollegiate participation or coaching experience at an NCAA sponsored institution.
• CPR certified preferred.
