Facility Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Facility Manager for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Richmond, VA. This role is ideal for a facilities management professional who enjoys leading teams, improving building operations, managing vendors, and ensuring safe, efficient, well-maintained property environments. The Facility Manager will oversee daily facilities operations, preventative maintenance, safety compliance, vendor relationships, budgets, renovations, and service delivery for a real estate and property management environment. This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution. Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement facility management programs, including preventative maintenance, inspections, and life-cycle planning.- Supervise maintenance, repairs, renovations, refurbishments, and daily building operations.
- Lead facilities staff, coordinate external contractors, and ensure effective use of facility space and resources.
- Prepare, monitor, and analyze facility budgets, expenditures, vendor quotes, and service agreements.
- Manage building services such as security, cleaning, waste disposal, parking, reception, catering, and other central services.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, access control, inspection, and training requirements. Compensation and Benefits - $32 to $35 per hour.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Manage facility operations, maintenance programs, inspections, repairs, and building services.- Lead facilities staff, coordinate vendors and contractors, and oversee service agreements.
- Prepare and monitor facility budgets, expenditures, quotes, tenders, and cost variances.
- Maintain health, safety, security, access control, and building compliance programs. - 6 to 10 years of experience in facilities management, operations, building maintenance, or a related leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of engineering, building systems, facility maintenance, and complex facilities operations.
- Understanding of construction, workflow management, procurement, vendor management, and contractor coordination.
- Proficiency with facility management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead teams, manage projects, respond to occupant concerns, and prioritize multiple operational needs. Preferred Qualifications - Professional facilities management certification such as CFM or FMP.
- Experience in real estate, property management, commercial facilities, or multi-site building operations.
- Prior experience overseeing renovations, capital projects, safety programs, and vendor performance.
