Program Coordinator - Community Outreach

LOCATION: NRA Headquarters (onsite, full-time)

SUMMARY: Responsible for activities in support of the management, development, and delivery of NRA's Community Outreach Programs, Refuse to Be a Victim, the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program, Women on Target and others as assigned. Provide key knowledge and support for the mission of NRA's Community Outreach Programs and the overall NRA mission.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with NRA purchasing to assist Managers of Community Outreach Programs including Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program, Refuse to Be a Victim and Women on Target inventory purchasing, fulfillment, and shipping, to ensure expenses are kept as low as possible and to ensure that inventory for NRA Community Outreach program is available for customers and NRA requirements as needed.
2. Properly track and record Eddie Eagle GunSafe, Refuse to Be a Victim and Women on Target program usage for use in promoting the programs and the NRA records.
3. Work with the Managers of Community Outreach Programs and Director to develop marketing strategies and use NRA networks to promote Community Outreach programs.

Under the guidance of the Director, demonstrate ongoing growth in performance and responsibilities to:
1. Develop and grow relationships with Volunteers, Instructors and Clinic Directors to ensure that Community Outreach programs maintain status as the best programs in their fields.
2. Promote, within departmental guidelines, NRA Community Outreach programs at conventions, conferences, special events and via written articles and stories for NRA publications and other external publications, magazines and newsletters as opportunities arise.
3. Promote Eddie Eagle GunSafe, Refuse to Be a Victim and Women on Target at NRA's showcase events, NRA Annual Meetings and the Great American Outdoor Show. Public speaking is part of these promotional efforts.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.

SCOPE: Interacts regularly with NRA staff, NRA members, members of NRA's Board of Directors, NRA volunteers and the general public. Position functions in a fast paced, detail oriented and time sensitive work environment with minimal direct supervision. National travel and some weekend work required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: College degree or equivalent work experience required. Marketing and budgeting experience helpful. Experience in the shooting sports, law enforcement, crime prevention, or community outreach helpful.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Excellent oral and written communications skills required. Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain focused on the task at hand essential. Strong administrative, analytical and effective organizational skills required. Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines essential. Demonstrated ability to present material in an oral format to both small and large groups is essential. Ability to motivate volunteer staff is essential. Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and PowerPoint essential.
