We’re Hiring: Clerical Secretary

Location: Henry County Adult Detention Center
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Salary Minimum: $38,899 annually ($18.70/hour)

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to support law enforcement operations through the management of criminal warrants and related records. This position plays an important role in ensuring accurate documentation, effective communication, and compliance with state and federal systems.

What You’ll Do

• Enter, update, and maintain warrant information in NCIC, VCIN, and the agency’s Records Management System (RMS)
• Review and process warrants issued by the courts for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare and maintain warrant files for use by deputies and investigators
• Communicate with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, courts, and law enforcement agencies nationwide
• Coordinate extraditions with in-state and out-of-state jurisdictions
• Work with Virginia State Police on sex offender registration and compliance matters
• Ensure all arrest documentation, fingerprint cards, and related paperwork are submitted appropriately
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable laws, policies, and regulations
• Perform administrative tasks such as filing, record retrieval, and data verification
• Provide timely and accurate warrant information to law enforcement personnel as needed

What We’re Looking For

• Working knowledge of VCIN, NCIC, and criminal justice procedures (including warrants, extradition, and sex offender registry)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
