Pay: Based on experience Kids Academy of Learning & Excellence (KALE), powered by the CORE Foundation, is seeking a STEM Teacher to join our innovative early learning team. KALE is a next-generation learning environment that blends strong academic foundations with STE(AI)M™ education, robotics, literacy, and character development . This role is ideal for an educator who is excited about hands-on learning, future-ready skills, and inspiring young children through science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, and age-appropriate artificial intelligence concepts. Duties
- Deliver engaging STE(AI)M™ instruction , including robotics, coding, and interactive technology
- Foster curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking
- Use educational technology tools (robotics kits, coding platforms, introductory AI tools)
- Create a warm, safe, and structured classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, safety, and organization
- Collaborate with teaching staff on curriculum planning and continuous improvement
- Document and assess student progress in alignment with school and state standards
- Participate in required professional development and KALE-sponsored training
- Model CORE Foundation values, including inclusion, resilience, and service
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must meet Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) requirements for licensed center lead teachers , including required coursework and training
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Completion of all VDOE-mandated trainings , including:
- Safe Sleep / SIDS Prevention
- Mandated Reporter Training
- Successful completion of criminal background checks, CPS checks, and sex offender registry checks
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs. and actively support classroom/lab activities
- Strong communication, professionalism, reliability, and teamwork skills
- Experience teaching STEM, robotics, coding, or AI in an educational setting
- Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Experience working in diverse and inclusive classrooms
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience
- W-2 employee status (not contractor)
