No Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Tester with over 5 years of experience in Application Modernization to join our dynamic team. The position will play a critical role in the modernization of the Delivery Operations Information System (DOIS) for the United States Postal Service (USPS). The Automation Tester will lead the testing efforts for the DOIS modernization project for USPS, ensuring high-quality software delivery through rigorous automated and manual testing. The individual will leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to optimize testing processes and ensure comprehensive test coverage. Join us in shaping the future of our products and services through cutting-edge technology! HOW AN AUTOMATION TESTER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, JUnit, and Jest.
- Utilize AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to generate and optimize test cases and automation scripts.
- Implement and manage continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure seamless testing and deployment.
- Conduct functional, regression, performance, and security testing to identify and fix defects early in the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and develop effective test strategies.
- Perform manual testing where necessary to validate user stories and ensure accuracy of automated tests.
- Ensure that all software meets quality standards and compliance requirements, including Section 508 Accessibility and USPS security guidelines.
- Document and report test results, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end reporting solutions, leveraging full stack developer skills to integrate front-end visualization tools with back-end data processing and storage systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields, preferred but not required.
- If there is no relevant college degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
- 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong emphasis on test automation.
- Experience with AI tools, particularly GitHub Copilot, for test script generation and optimization.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub).
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS) and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in using testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, and Jest.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
- AWS Certifications related to DevOps or Testing (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
- Experience in a USPS environment or similar large-scale federal IT projects.
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester).
- Experience with Version One Agile Lifecycle Management Tool.
