Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager to steer multi-disciplinary engineering teams through the full lifecycle of complex design projects. In this role, you aren’t just managing a schedule; you are the primary architect of client trust and the strategic engine ensuring that technical excellence meets fiscal precision. You will own the "big picture"—from initial pursuit and contract execution to the high-stakes delivery of sustainable, energy-efficient infrastructures that define the future of the built environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Strategic Project Leadership: Lead multi-disciplinary engineering design teams from initial identification and pursuit through final closeout, serving as the definitive point of accountability for scope, schedule, and budget.

• Project Architecture & Setup: Form high-performance internal and external teams; develop critical project artifacts including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Storyboards, and comprehensive communication plans.

• Financial & Fiscal Stewardship: Partner with internal finance teams to execute contracts within Deltek; monitor invoicing, optimize project margins through Value Engineering (VE), and ensure accurate job cost reporting.

• Operational Excellence: Direct day-to-day workstreams to ensure peak resource utilization; maintain living risk/issue logs and drive rigorous QA/QC processes to exceed office technical standards.

• Client Advisory: Serve as the trusted advisor and primary liaison for sophisticated clients, conducting regular performance evaluations to uncover growth opportunities and referrals.

• Performance Monitoring: Utilize Project Status Reporting (PSR) systems to track variances, provide accurate forecasting, and ensure all deliverables align with contractual acceptance criteria.

• Team Mentorship: Identify staff development needs, assign work based on individual strengths, and provide clear pathways for the next generation of engineering leaders.

• Continuous Improvement: Conduct post-mortem "lessons learned" sessions to refine internal processes regarding quality, budget control, and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.

• Experience: 10+ years of experience managing facility-related or technical engineering projects.

• Software Proficiency: Advanced command of Microsoft Project and the Microsoft 365 suite; familiarity with Deltek or similar ERP systems for project accounting.

• Technical Acumen: Proven ability to map complex Staffing Plans to a Statement of Work (SOW) and manage multi-project deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

• Communication: Exceptional oral and written skills with a demonstrated ability to present complex financial and technical data to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Security Clearance: Active or eligible for a Top Secret clearance.

• Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

• Sector Expertise: Working knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and public sector/government contracting.

• Technical Breadth: Cross-discipline exposure to MEP, structural systems, building controls, or energy modeling.

• Business Development: Experience in proposal development, cost modeling, and budget creation for public sector pursuits.
