Job Description:

As the Manager on Duty, you will play a key role in supporting the CO-General Managers in daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Your responsibilities will include working with a sense of urgency to ensure projects are completed efficiently, supervising staff, managing inventory, and promoting our commitment to healthy living and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

• Supervise staff and oversee store operations during assigned shifts.
• Positively represent and support store policies while working with employees and customers.
• Act as a point of leadership and decision-making in the absence of senior managers.

Store Operations:

• Support the CO-General Managers and Assistant Managers in overseeing daily store operations.
• Enforce and model operational policies and procedures to ensure consistent standards across the team.

Customer Service:

• Foster a welcoming and inclusive shopping experience for customers.
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.

Inventory Control:

• Assist in managing inventory, including restocking and waste reduction.
• Monitor product freshness and quality, ensuring a diverse and well-stocked selection of natural and organic products.

Merchandising:

• Manage product placement and fronting based on guidelines provided by the Chief Retail Officer and Marketing Department.
• Maintain a clean, respectful, and organized work environment that aligns with the values and mission of Good Foods Grocery.

Community Engagement:

• Support the General Manager in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, local producers, and the broader community.
• Participate in community events and initiatives to increase store visibility and engagement.
• Serve as the lead manager supporting the Career Readiness & Employment Program, guiding interns and graduates.
• Collaborate with the Commonwealth Autism Programs team to fulfill program needs and support inclusive employment practices.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift with breaks.
• Ability to lift, stand, or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read small, detailed labels and POS directions with 20/20 vision (natural or corrected).
• Manual dexterity to operate a cash register and handle items efficiently.
