Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Civil Engineer will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects. This position involves site/civil engineering design for mixed-use developments, shopping centers, residential areas, higher education institutions, and federal projects within a supportive and continuous learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and modify engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates using engineering and design software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion, and sediment control from concept through completion.
• Conduct stormwater management design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, and design and SWPPP preparation.
• Integrate geotechnical and environmental engineering into land development projects.
• Perform additional duties as requested.
• Maintain familiarity with current local, state, and federal land use permitting processes.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 2-5+ years of professional experience in site/civil design, including land development, stormwater management, site grading, erosion, and sediment control.
• EIT (Engineer-in-Training) Certification required, PE License preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Local civil engineering experience in land development projects, ideally in Northern VA/DC.
• Capability to work on both small and large projects.
• Technical and proposal writing experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work comfortably with clients and participate in meetings.

Work Environment

The work environment offers hybrid flexibility with 2-3 days in the office each week, transitioning to more remote work over time. This is a Permanent position based out of Arlington, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $82000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
