Position Summary:
The Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 16 months to 2 years old. This role focuses on supporting early development through play-based, sensory-rich learning experiences while promoting social, emotional, and language growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support early childhood development
• Provide constant supervision of children by sight and sound to ensure safety at all times
• Create and lead play-based learning activities with a strong emphasis on sensory exploration
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Perform routine diaper changing and maintain proper sanitation procedures
• Assist with and support potty training in a positive, developmentally appropriate manner
• Incorporate basic Spanish and sign language into daily interactions to support communication and language development
• Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment
• Observe and document children’s progress and developmental milestones
• Communicate effectively with families regarding their child’s daily activities and development
• Follow all licensing regulations and center policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Experience working with toddlers in a childcare or early childhood setting preferred
• Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices
• Ability to implement play-based and sensory-focused curriculum
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn basic Spanish and sign language
• Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills
• Ability to lift, bend, and actively engage with young children throughout the day

Work Environment:
This position requires active engagement with children, including sitting on the floor, lifting, diapering, and participating in indoor and outdoor activities daily.
