Postdoctoral Researcher
Summary
We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in ovarian biology to study the role of novel, locally-produced growth factors in ovulation. This project will use in vivo and in vitro model systems to explore the impact of growth factors on angiogenesis, extracellular matrix remodeling, steroidogenesis, and other key changes within the ovarian follicle at ovulation.
Applicants must have a PhD degree in biological sciences or relevant field. The successful applicant will have experience using in vivo and in vitro models of the ovary. Expertise working with theca cells is desirable. The successful applicant will have demonstrated ability to work independently, supervise student researchers, perform literature searches, prepare drafts of manuscripts and grants, and present research projects at regional/national conferences.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct research, within the scope of current funding, as agreed upon with the PI.
- Prepare drafts of manuscripts for publication as a co-author.
- Assist the PI to supervise undergraduate, graduate, and medical student researchers working in the laboratory.
- Learn and follow all procedures for safe handling of chemicals, biohazards, sharps, and other laboratory materials.
Education and/or training: Applicants must have a PhD degree in biological sciences or relevant field.
Level and type ofexperience: The successful applicant will have experience using in vivo and in vitro models of the ovary.
