The Job Description:POSITION: RN - General Medicine PCU Vent Experience Required SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING ================================== Shift hours: 3x12s nights 645p-715a Charting: EPIC experience required Weekend Requirement: May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block RTO: ALL requests must be included with the submission. Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2-weeks. Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract. Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes. Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: Yes locals accepted. Refer to Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria. Pending License Accepted: Yes only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. Otherwise submission must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS =========================== ACLS BLS NIHSS REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS ============================ Cardiac monitoring emergency response and dysrhythmia interpretation/management IV therapy phlebotomy blood product administration and central/peripheral line care Medication administration including cardiac drips no titration Respiratory support: nasal cannula oxygen administration non-invasive airway management Ventilator experience Ventilator care for chronic trach and vent patients Rapid Response and Code team activation Isolation precautions and telemetry settings across PCU DOU IMC and stepdown units UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING ============================= Ratios: Typically 1:5. General PCU unit. Hybrid unit consisting of 10 PCU beds and 2 ICU beds. Vent/trach dependent patients Common diagnosis: DKA COPD Sepsis Suicide/Overdose Chronic respiratory failure renal failure 2 beds for chronic trach patients Remote telemetry monitors remain on unit tele sitting implemented to increase Patient Care Tech coverage Floating: Will be required to float within skillset HOSPITAL HIGHLIGHTS ======================= Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital is a large acute care facility in Roanoke Virginia with over 700 licensed beds. It is recognized as a Level I Trauma Center Magnet-designated and a teaching hospital affiliated with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
