Boat & ATV Sales Consultant
The Boat & ATV Sales Consultant performs various selling and customer service activities to assist Boat and ATV Customers in making informed buying decisions.
Essential functions include:
- Supporting a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
- Engaging all customers entering the department in a friendly and timely manner.
- Meeting with potential customers to determine their boating and or ATV needs.
- Providing information necessary to allow the customer to make an informed buying decision.
- Maintaining current product knowledge by using available resources.
- Maintaining awareness of advertised items, current pricing structures, and promotions.
- Remaining current on and adhering to all selling skills training and direction.
- Working cooperatively with the Service Department to ensure delivery to the customer is seamless.
- Maintaining complete confidentiality of all sensitive and personal information.
- Preparing the showroom each morning to ensure proper signage is in place and all products are clean, presentable, and in sellable condition.
- Generating and managing leads and prospects in the provided Customer Relationship Management tool on a daily basis.
- Participating in special events such as Boat Shows, Parking Lot events, etc. and accurately completing all necessary paperwork required within the selling process.
- Meeting and exceeding pre-determined individual monthly sales goals.
- Maintaining a clean and professional work area and following all Company Policies and Procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Experience/qualifications include:
- High School education or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, skills, and ability include:
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and percentages.
- Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to customers and other associates.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to operate computer system & Point of Sale register system.
Travel requirements: N/A
Physical requirements include:
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stands for extended periods.
Independent judgment: Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
