Position Summary

The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) provides administrative and operational support to the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in the day-to-day execution of the Industrial Security Program. Responsibilities include assisting with personnel security processing, clearance visit requests, secure room operations, security records management, compliance activities, and maintaining government security systems. The AFSO also supports the Security Systems Administrator and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) with routine account management, access administration, password resets, and audit log reviews.

This position is in Arlington, VA office and requires office attendance.

Essential Responsibilities

• Support the Industrial Security Program in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and company policies.
• Assist with DCSA inspections, self-inspections, assessments, and corrective actions.
• Support personnel security activities, including SF-86 reviews, DISS updates, Visit Authorization Requests (VARs), Security briefings and debriefings.
• Assist with daily security operations, including badge administration, visitor control, classified material accountability, access management, and security logs.
• Maintain security records, DD254s, classified holdings, and government security systems (DISS, NISS, NBIS, Scattered Castle, and SWFT).
• Support security system administration, including user account management, password resets, access administration, and audit log reviews.

Here's what you'll need

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years supporting a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or serving as an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO).
• Strong knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) and DCSA requirements.
• Experience with DCSA inspections, self-inspections, and compliance activities.
• Proficient experience using security portals such as DISS, NISS, NBIS, Scattered Castle, and SWFT.
• Experience supporting personnel security functions, including clearance processing, SF-86 reviews, VARs, and security records management.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
• United States Citizenship.
• Active Secret security clearance required; eligibility for Top Secret/SCI preferred.

Ideally, you'll also have

• Current DCSA FSO Program Management Certification.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Experience supporting SCIF operations and Intelligence Community programs.
• Experience preparing for DCSA inspections and managing corrective actions.
• Experience maintaining security metrics, compliance reporting, DD254s, and classified contract administration.

The base salary range for this position is $70,900.00 to $110,800.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
