Staff Accountant

Description

Acoustical Sheetmetal is hiring for a Staff Accountant. The candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
• Assist in the month, quarter end and year-end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
• Assist with annual audit
• Job cost and profit margin analysis
• Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
• In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
• Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
• Participate in various department-wide initiatives
• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required
• At least 4 years of accounting experience
• Manufacturing experience is preferred
• Strong staff accountant experience in general ledger accounting, account analysis, annual budget preparation, and monitoring of variance reporting
• Managing all aspects of vendor payments, invoices posting, validating, processing for payments
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with QuickBooks software preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with all levels of staff
• Must be a team player, who is committed to company and individual performance targets.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and be an effective team member
• Strong ability to mentor and support additional staff accounting members
• Flexible with the ability to work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
