As a Security Officer -- Government Center - Overnight Shift in Portsmouth, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment at a prominent government location. You will conduct routine patrols across assigned areas, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your responsibilities will include monitoring for unusual activity, responding to incidents as they arise, and providing exceptional customer service through clear and courteous communication. Pay Rate: $17.25 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
• Observe and report any security-related incidents or unusual activity as required by site procedures.
• Collaborate with local authorities and emergency services when necessary, following established protocols.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential issues and provide reassurance to employees, visitors, and contractors at the location.
• Complete all required documentation and logs accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with Allied Universal policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid TSA issued TWIC is required.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
