Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant

Blue Ridge Truck and Auto is looking for someone to join our dynamic team as a Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant and become a vital part of our financial operations! Duties:

• Manage daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
• Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statements
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking
• Support payroll processing and related tax filings to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Prepare financial reports and summaries, including general ledger analysis and account analysis
• Maintain organized records of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and organizational policies
• Conduct periodic audits of financial data, ensuring double-entry bookkeeping accuracy and general ledger integrity

Experience:

• Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms is highly preferred
• Solid understanding of fundamental accounting concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping
• Experience in corporate accounting, governmental accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus
• Familiarity with financial report writing, budget management, and technical accounting practices
• Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and bank reconciliation procedures
• Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks accurately
