Multi Craft Maintenance Technician

Description

o Maintain the successful operation of production machines according to priority o Ability to use a systematic approach in solving problems through analysis of problem and evaluation of alternate solutions; use logic, mathematics, or other problem-solving tools in data analysis or in generating solutions. o Demonstrate knowledge of technical skills to include, but not limited to, the following: proficient in machine shop practices - welding, fabrication, minor electrical skills, plumbing skills, computer skills, troubleshooting, reading a micrometer, drill press operation, and reading and understanding diagrams. o Use precision measuring equipment to perform alignment of pumps, shafts, motors and gearboxes. o Perform rigging and lifting of heavy components/equipment while following all applicable safety requirements. o Use a wide range of mechanical blueprints to perform tear down and rebuilds of manufacturing production equipment and components. o Working knowledge of electrical control systems o Be able to wire and verify operation of 3 phase, single phase and DC motors according to electrical schematics. o Ability to follow mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic layouts. o Tracks work performance, document parts and repairs completed through use of computer-based maintenance software. o Efficient and effective troubleshooting ability. Knowledge and effective use of computerized systems o Working knowledge of production support system. o Passion for driving results & demonstrated history of self-development o Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping. o Demonstrates effective interaction skills to support team activities related to effective process decisions and goals. o Perform Preventive Maintenance o Conduct Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures o Communicate actions taken to repair the machine to Operator and/or Lead o Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping standards. o Perform any other duties as assigned

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
