Registered Nurse Job Details

• Position Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Locum Tenens
• Location: Richlands, Virginia (VA 24641)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Healthcare Setting: Level 3 OB Unit, Nursery
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (as scheduled)
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1910 - $1960 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Virginia or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Labor & Delivery nursing and/or Nursery care
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or higher, STABLE (for nursery)
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills

L&D Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns in a Level 3 OB unit and nursery
• Monitor laboring patients, assist with deliveries, and provide postpartum nursing care
• Care for newborns, including those in the intermediate nursery setting
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Accurately document patient care in Meditech EHR
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to A1 guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
• Float to other clinical units as required by census
