Locums Emergency Medicine Physician
We are seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician for an ongoing opportunity in Fredericksburg, Virginia. This is a high-volume Emergency Department within a comprehensive hospital offering extensive specialty and ancillary support.
Position Highlights
24-hour Emergency Department coverage
Approximately 100 Emergency Medicine patients per day at the main site
Comprehensive hospital with extensive specialty and critical care services
Advanced diagnostic imaging, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, X-ray, and interventional radiology
ICU and Progressive Care Unit
Cardiac catheterization and advanced cardiac services
Level III NICU and comprehensive obstetric services
Broad surgical and specialty support
Department Metrics:
·Annual volume: ~42,000
·Admission rate: ~21%
·Expected productivity: ~2–3 PPH
·Fast Track and main ED coverage
·All ages
Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
Diagnose and treat a broad range of acute and emergent conditions.
Stabilize critically ill and injured patients.
Perform standard Emergency Medicine procedures within scope of practice.
Coordinate admissions, transfers, and specialty consultations.
Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, specialists, nursing, and ancillary staff.
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
Active Virginia medical license
ATLS, ACLS, and PALS required
Emergency Medicine experience required
