Job Description

The Payment Posting Specialist effectively and accurately posts all insurance payments while ensuring all claims are paid as they should be. This individual also serves as a point of contact for insurance payment questions or concerns for other staff members.

• Understand insurance and stay up to date on the typical payment models of various plans, as it is ever changing.
• Ensure that all EFTs are posted as quickly as possible.
• Ensure that all EFTs and virtual credit card payments are processed and posted.
• At the month-end, ensure all payments have been appropriately applied.
• Identify patterns of inaccurate payment amounts, retractions, denials, etc.
• Answer the phone in a friendly manner and assist coworkers and patients who leave voicemail in a timely fashion.
• Work closely with other members of the billing team. This position will work closely with the Billing Supervisor and Insurance Specialists.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Excellent in-person and phone customer service
• Close attention to detail
• Great time management and organizational skills
• Team player attitude and energetic with a focus on excellent customer service
