Director Facilities Management

Hospital Facilities Management Experience Required

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Facilities Management department in Reston. The Director of Facilities Management will oversee all facets of Engineering, Telecommunications, Security, and Bio-Medical Engineering. This role is crucial in ensuring that our facilities operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategically plan and direct the activities of the facilities management department, focusing on optimizing performance and safety.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for buildings, equipment, alarm systems, and grounds to ensure maximum service life.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, licensure requirements, and regulatory standards including NFPA, OSHA, EPA, and more.
• Lead sustainability initiatives and contribute to long-term strategic planning for campus development.
• Serve as the facility Safety Officer and co-chair the Environment of Care (EOC) committee.

Qualifications

• Education: A college degree in architecture, engineering, construction, or a related field is preferred.
• Certification: Certified Health Care Facilities Manager (CHFM) preferred.
• Professional Memberships: Membership with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) is preferred and required within the first year of employment.
• Experience: A minimum of ten years of experience in hospital building operations and maintenance, with at least five years in a managerial or supervisory role.
