Responsibilities
· Overall responsibility for profitability and performance of assigned areas.
· Provides the leadership needed to assure the understanding and use of constraint management in a connected process.
Specific Duties:
· Ensures a safe working environment in the department by holding supervisors accountable for compliance with all safety policies & procedures, prompt accident investigations, and corrections and closures of identified safety issues.
· Promotes continuous improvement in safety and environmental areas.
· Responsible for resolution of customer concerns.
· Develops annual business plan (including capital and expense spending, labor, scrap, and supply spending).
· Provides leadership for continuous improvement to the process and the employees.
· Contributes to establishment of policies and procedures.
· Plans and directs with the assistance of subordinate supervisors the manufacture of required quantity and quality of products necessary to fill customer orders.
· Develops and establishes adequate controls and procedures relative to production activities.
· Analyzes, evaluates, and integrates various controlling reports concerned with production quality and quantity and budget expenditures.
· Reviews major expenditure requests for tools, fixtures, etc.
· Makes recommendations for and requests purchase of capital expenditure equipment.
· Responsible for safety and good housekeeping in the manufacturing area.
· Keeps informed of current developments in production management techniques and incorporates developments applicable to plant activities.
· Administers personnel policies within the department.
· Selects, trains, and develops subordinates.
Education
· 4-year college degree preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
· Five years of experience in Manufacturing/Manufacturing Management.
