Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Must possess valid nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Experience in Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit or Cardiothoracic Surgical Intensive Care Unit at a level 1 facility - EPIC charting experience required - Invasive hemodynamic monitoring experience - Level I trauma experience or strong surgical trauma ICU background Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in a Cardiothoracic Surgical Intensive Care Unit. This unit specializes in post-operative care for cardiac surgeries including CABGs, valve repairs and replacements, aortic surgeries, VADs, total artificial hearts, and heart/liver/kidney transplants. Nursing assignments typically include a patient load of 1-2 patients. Required skills include CRRT, IABP, and ECMO. Candidates must have experience recovering patients post-operative from cardiothoracic surgery. Nurses will provide oversight for circulatory assist devices including Heartmate II and III LVAD, CentriMag RVAD/LVAD, Heartware HVAD, and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation. Additional responsibilities include the titration of vasoactive IV medications and monitoring post-operative recovery. The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Candidates may be required to float within their scope of practice if needed. A BSN is preferred. About Cynet Health
