We are seeking a Senior Water Treatment Designer with 10-20 years of progressive experience in the project management and planning of water treatment facility upgrade and rehabilitation projects, and in the operation of water treatment facilities and treatment systems. This role involves working on municipal and industrial water treatment projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Manage and oversee water treatment projects from concept through construction.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Construction Support:
- Provide construction-phase services, including attending pre-bid meetings, reviewing submittals, and resolving technical issues.
- Technical Leadership:
- Serve as project lead and coordinate technical tasks across multidisciplinary teams.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and support staff.
- Client Interaction & Proposals:
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and interviews.
- Assist in preparing technical proposals and developing innovative design approaches.
Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 10–20 years of progressive experience in water and wastewater system planning, operation, maintenance and construction.
- Familiarity with both surface water and groundwater public water systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Valid Class 1 Waterworks Operator license in Virginia.
