Victory Christian Academy, located in Fredericksburg, VA. is looking to hire teachers (K4-12).
Our Teachers bring warmth, patience, and understanding to the classroom every day, encouraging our children to learn and grow at every age. They are dedicated to educating, equipping, and empowering through the Abeka curriculum, which is grounded in biblical principles to develop our children both spiritually and academically. As a Teacher in our Academy:
Our (K4-12)Teachers are responsible for managing the classroom and implementing school procedures; plan lessons, including virtual learning, and assigning homework; grading student work and evaluating their ability to communicate with others and work in groups; select curriculum-development materials, including textbooks, in accordance with Academy ABEKA preschool guidelines; meet one-on-one with students to improve performance and address behavioral issues; hold conferences with parents and guardians as needed; impart classroom instruction based on predefined curriculum; maintain a safe and organized classroom environment for children; ensure the physical, social, cognitive, spiritual, and educational excellence of children; ensure that the classroom is aesthetically attractive so that students enjoy their surroundings while learning lessons; plan lessons and daily activities; ensure the development of positive relationships with children to promote self-esteem and self-discipline; observe each child assess skills, interests, and needs and use this information to facilitate individual learning and growth; provide comfort to distressed children through compassion and tact; support children during lunchtime and ensure that their nutritional needs are fulfilled; oversee children and make ensure they are safe during outdoor activities; record attendance; record accident and incident reports; help supervise children during lunchtime; and when required, clear tables after lunchtime.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Preferred coursework or a degree in early childhood education or child development.
- Prior experience in teaching, childcare or other related fields preferred; must have an acceptable rating for prior experience.
- Must pass a background check.
- CPR and First Aid Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors
- Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
- Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English.
- Honest, nurturing, and organized.
- Must be goal-oriented to fulfill the fast-paced DVD-based teaching of a small class (for grades K4-12)

- Ability to develop detailed and engaging lesson plans.
