Advanced Practice Provider(NP/PA) - Inpatient Cardiac Surgery - Remote

About the Role:

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play a vital role in our cardiac surgery team, exercising independent judgment in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. From managing complex cases in the CVICU to ensuring smooth transitions home for patients, you'll have a direct impact on patient care. What You'll Do:

Develop differential diagnoses and plans of care, revising them based on patient findings.
Interpret and synthesize lab results, imaging, and other data.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families on plans of care.
Evaluate and document patients' responses to care, assessing the impact of illness on their overall well-being.
Assume clinical management for critically ill cardiovascular patients in collaboration with physicians.
Contribute to the development and revision of patient care standards.
Integrate evidence-based research into clinical practice.
Participate in clinical research and data collection.
Provide formal and informal clinical and professional education to staff.
What You'll Bring:

Certification: Basic Life Support (prior to start), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (upon start), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (upon start).
Licensure: Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner; if NP: RN Compact License (depending on state of residence) AND license (or eligibility for) as an NP or PA in Virginia AND a "Practice Agreement" signed by supervising physician(s) AND a written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician AND "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances).
Experience: One year of experience is highly preferred.
Education: For NPs: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post-master's certificate program for NPs OR certificate from an accredited program. For PAs: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Board Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Maintains necessary CME requirements.
Preferably at least 1 year of experience in cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, general surgery, cardiology, or critical care.
