Sales Manager
Overview:
Sales Manager will assist in leading our sales team and drive revenue growth in the logistics sector. In this strategic role, the Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, building strong client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities through our various service offerings. This professional will have a proven track record in logistics or supply chain sales, exceptional organization skills, and a deep understanding of transportation, warehousing, and freight forwarding services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, customer service, and marketing, to deliver tailored solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.
Location: Harrisonburg Office, VA
Reports To: Director of Sales
Work hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Must be willing to work outside of regular hours and travel to customers, events, and related training/industry opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow the customer base across warehousing, transportation, value-added services, and supply chain solutions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, generate qualified leads, and close high-value deals within local, regional, and national logistics markets.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on logistics and supply chain strategies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, customer service, and pricing teams to ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed of competitor activities, industry trends, and evolving customer needs.
- Create accurate sales forecasts and performance reports using the company’s CRM platform and deliver insightful presentations to senior leadership.
- Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual KPIs, including targets for revenue growth, gross profit, lead conversion, and new customer acquisition.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings to strengthen market presence and foster new opportunities.
- Analyze industry and competitor offerings to identify areas for service enhancement and differentiation.
- Prepare compelling sales presentations for both internal executive updates and client-facing proposals.
- Support the Customer Experience team during client onboarding, assist with maintaining account data, and help manage customer account balances.
- Oversee post-sale client relationships and proactively identify opportunities for upselling and expanding service utilization.
- Manager will participate in industry training programs offered by industry associations such as International Warehouse Logistics Association (IWLA), Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), and other relevant industry associations.
- Manager will prepare and present bi-weekly sales meetings and monthly expense reports.
- Manager will actively participate in Company leadership team meetings and events.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years experience in logistics, supply chain operations, or technical sales.
- Strong understanding of 3PL operations, Trucking and Added Value Services
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a solutions mindset.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all departments at InterChange.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Ability to remain flexible in work assignments/scheduled hours.
- Occasional travel will be required for prospect and customer visits.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Lead Generation Tools and Microsoft Office Suite
