About the position
Goodwin Home Health is currently seeking a Nurse Supervisor that will work with our dynamic and passionate team. We offer work-life balance, along with outstanding pay and benefits. In your role as Nurse Supervisor, you will develop and safely deliver high-quality skilled Home Health nursing services to older adults living in their homes. Goodwin Home Health provides skilled care throughout Northern Virginia, focusing on the counties of: Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun. The Nurse Supervisor will assist the Clinical Nurse Manager in the training and oversight of new/current home health employees in compliance with all regulatory standards. In this position, the employee acts in reflection of Goodwin Home Health’s philosophy and mission of providing excellent standards of care as a full-time clinician in the field as well as performing supervisory tasks and additional duties such as meeting attendance and program development in conjunction with the nurse manager.
Job Duties
- ·Participates in the development and implementation of patient plan of care.
- ·Participates in patient care conferences according to Goodwin Home Health care policies and procedures as appropriate. ·
- ·Provides Nursing care that reflects the patients plan of care.
- ·Implements current nursing practice.
- ·Documents in patients' clinical records per Goodwin Home Health polices and standards.
- ·Identifies patient needs and communicates them to the case manager (RN) in a timely manner.
- ·Implements clinical care per Goodwin Home Health policies and procedures.
- .Implements and completes documentation of patient care and visits timely and accurately.
- ·Organizes assignments and completes them on time.
- ·Attends mandatory meetings, seminars or any other requested in person department meetings as well as maintain 100% compliance with mandatory training, staff meetings at least 4 times per year.
- ·Fulfills additional performance responsibilities as assigned and as necessary.
- ·Reports changes in patient condition immediately to Clinical Nurse Manager or Administrator.
- ·Immediately reports abuse, real or suspicion to Clinical Nurse Manager, Administrator or DHP.
- ·Consults with case manager (RN) or Clinical Nurse Manager as needed on issues and concerns.
- ·Monitors and orders patient supplies effectively and efficiently, and makes sure supplies are readily available for clinicians, while monitoring par levels and working with suppliers to monitor cost savings on a weekly basis.
- ·Maintains confidentiality of patient information, as well as other team members information always.
- ·Promotes education for patients, family members and caregivers.
- ·Demonstrates current knowledge regarding professional career development in the delivery of Home Health Care Services.
- ·Supports Clinical Nurse Manager with performing QA of clinical documentation of skilled nursing visits, HHA aide care plans, HHA visits.
- ·Maintains an average minimum of 17-20 skilled nursing visits per week.
- ·Ensures HHA and LPN supervisory visits are completed within appropriate timeframe per CMS guidelines.
- ·Assists with on-boarding and orientation of new employees to home health department.
- ·Provides training to new/current home health staff on regulatory practices such as timely documentation, compliance expectations, bag technique, etc.
- ·Performs supervisory reporting for QAPI.
- ·Assist intake as needed with monitoring and assisting with insurance reauthorizations.
- ·Other duties assigned by Clinical Nurse Manager/Administrator.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Currently licensed by the state board of nursing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
- At least one-year acute care experience, Home Health preferred.
- Current CPR certification
- Possess a driver's license, proof of automobile insurance and readily available, reliable transportation.
