Job Description :
As the RN Manager for the Emergency Department, you will be a key operational leader, stepping in for the Director to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality patient care. Your daily responsibilities will include strategic resource planning to manage workload, staff scheduling, and departmental workflow. You will be instrumental in developing and upholding unit standards, fostering a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement. A significant part of your role involves mentoring your team through active participation in interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, and ensuring all staff competencies and licensures are maintained. You will also lead orientation for new team members and champion inter-departmental communication to optimize patient outcomes.
Required Skills :
- Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or a valid multi-state compact license.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
- Proven experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department setting.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong communication skills.
Preferred Skills :
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or current enrollment in a BSN program.
- Prior experience in a nursing leadership role (e.g., Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ACLS Instructor certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or PALS Instructor certification.
- BCLS Instructor certification.
