Job Title: Structural Welder

This is a fully on site position in Charleston, South Carolina

Compensation: $45 an hour

Per diem: $140 in daily per diem

• Perform welding processes on aluminum and steel parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys.
• Determine layouts and weld parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Flux core and Mig-Pulse Arc Welding.

As a  Structural Welder & Fabricator , you’ll work in a high-output modular fabrication shop producing critical components for submarines and aircraft carriers. This role demands precision, skill, and a commitment to excellence in structural welding and steel fabrication.

🧰 Key Responsibilities

• Perform  Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)on high-grade steel components
• Read and interpret  blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings
• Fit, align, and tack weld steel structures with precision
• Use grinders, torches, and measuring tools to prepare and finish welds
• Weld in 2G (horizontal), 3G (vertical), and 4G (overhead)positions
• Work in  confined spaces , on  elevated platforms , and in  varied environments
• Collaborate with engineers and inspectors to meet  military-grade specifications
• Follow strict  safety protocols and contribute to a culture of quality and accountability

🧪 Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in SMAW and FCAW welding
• Ability to pass  military-spec welding assessments
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Physically able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces
• Willingness to work  multiple shifts in a 24/7 production environment

This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA.

The pay range for this position is $29.56 - $38.90/hr.
