Data Center Operations Manager

InMotion Hosting is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager to lead our data center operations across multiple locations. This role is responsible for setting operational standards, ensuring uptime and readiness, and supporting the continued growth of our infrastructure. You will be actively involved in day-to-day operations, including maintenance, incident response, and team leadership, to ensure systems and services are running smoothly and effectively for both the company and our customers.

What You’ll Do:

Leadership

• Lead and own day-to-day data center operations across multiple locations, ensuring reliable, consistent execution and team accountability.
• Manage and develop data center team members, serving as the primary point of escalation for operational issues.
• Partner with Systems, Network, and Support teams to coordinate efforts and support cross-functional initiatives as needed.

Operational & Technical Responsibilities

• Ensure server readiness, maintenance, hardware upgrades, and inventories.
• Oversee scheduled maintenance, RMAs/vendor coordination, uptime targets.
• Maintain environmental checks (temperature, power, HVAC) and safety procedures.

Documentation & Process

• Keep operational documentation up-to-date.
• Train teams on how to handle the hardware and software portion of Evacs when needed.

Projects & Procurement

• Contribute to procurement decisions for new sites, products, and projects.

Ideal Candidates Have:

• 6+ years Linux-based data center engineering/operations experience.
• Previous leadership experience managing or supervising Data Center teams
• Experience working within a budget and leveraging your resources.
• Experience managing implementation and troubleshooting of an enterprise data center environment
• Exposure to network and storage operations
• Working knowledge and practical experience in increasing technology footprints, ensuring uptime, and working with network, security, and systems engineers to produce quality solutions
• Exposure to HVAC management, power supply, UPS, cooling/heating.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based virtualization technologies, including LXC/Incus, Virtuozzo/OpenVZ and OpenStack.
• Availability for scheduled on-call responsibilities and international travel based on business needs

Compensation:

Annual base compensation of $120,000+ dependent on experience and skill set.
