Benefits Specialist - Remote | WFH
Interpret Benefit Documents: Gain familiarity with summary plan descriptions and other benefit plan documents.
Ensure Compliance: Understand and apply ERISA and tax code regulations.
Communicate Effectively: Draft and review benefit-related communications for pilot publications.
Share Knowledge: Prepare quarterly benefits newsletters for distribution.
Support Negotiations: Assist in the preparation of retirement, insurance, and welfare benefit proposals for negotiations.
Train and Educate: Participate in the training of pilot committee members by preparing and giving presentations at benefits training events and seminars.
Provide Technical Assistance: Offer technical assistance to Labor Relations Counsels.
Act as a Consultant: Serve as an in-house consultant on benefit-related matters.
Stay Informed: Maintain a thorough understanding of employee benefits, current trends, and legislation.

What We're Looking For: Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Pre-Law, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Benefits Experience: Five (5) years of experience working in employee benefits (more preferred).
Benefits Knowledge: Working knowledge of the design and operation of retirement and welfare benefits.
Legal Knowledge: Working knowledge of legal requirements applicable to retirement and welfare benefits (ERISA, ACA, FMLA, HIPAA, Internal Revenue Code).
Interpretation Skills: Ability to interpret benefit laws, policies, and processes.
Aviation/Union Experience: Airline and/or union experience is a plus.
Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
Certifications: Certification as an Employee Benefits Paralegal or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) is preferred.
HR Certifications: PHR and/or SPHR SHRM certifications are a plus.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Physical Demands: Ability to operate computer and mobile devices.
Ability to move within an office and travel.
Ability to lift and move up to 10 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs while traveling.
Compensation: Projected annual salary range: $75,552.00 - $107,889.00.
