Richmond, VA
Introduction

Take the next step in your Occupational Therapy career with a dynamic travel assignment in Richmond, Virginia. As an Occupational Therapist, you will partner with patients to restore independence, refine daily living skills, and tailor interventions that empower real-life function. Your expertise will translate into meaningful improvements for adults and children alike, from mobility and self-care to cognitive strategies and adaptive equipment training. This multi-week opportunity places you at the heart of a region where clinical excellence meets community impact, allowing you to see the tangible difference you make every day. And as you explore the state, you’ll discover Virginia’s beauty: stroll the historic streets of Richmond, wander along the James River, indulge in urban culture infused with Southern charm, and venture to the nearby Blue Ridge foothills for weekend inspiration.

Location benefits

Richmond blends rich history with a thriving healthcare ecosystem, offering a supportive environment for clinicians who travel and grow. You’ll work within a network of hospitals and outpatient facilities that prioritize innovative OT practice, multidisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centered outcomes. The assignment’s location provides convenient access to cultural amenities, parks, and family-friendly activities, while maintaining proximity to major cities and scenic getaways. For those seeking broader experience, the role presents the opportunity to extend into other U.S. locations through our travel program, gaining exposure to diverse patient populations, facility types, and care models while enjoying reliable housing support, travel arrangements, and a predictable schedule. Virginia’s blend of urban energy and natural beauty creates a balanced backdrop for professional fulfillment and personal well-being.

Role specifics and benefits

You will deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services aligned with each patient’s goals and the established care plan. Core responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough evaluations of functional abilities, sensory processing, fine motor skills, cognitive function, and activities of daily living to determine effective OT interventions.
- Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans, selecting evidence-based therapeutic approaches, facilitating purposeful activities, and employing adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.
- Providing patient and caregiver education, home program instructions, and strategies to promote independence in self-care, community participation, work tasks, and leisure activities.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team—physiotherapists, physicians, speech-language pathologists, social workers—to optimize care, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed.
- Documenting progress, managing timely chart notes, and contributing to discharge planning and transition to community-based services.
- Participating in professional development opportunities to deepen expertise within the specialty and to enhance outcomes for diverse populations.

This role offers strong opportunities for professional growth within occupational therapy, including exposure to adult and pediatric populations, neurorehabilitation concepts, and functional mobility strategies. You’ll have the chance to build leadership skills, mentor junior team members, and contribute to program development within a supportive, forward-thinking environment. Competitive benefits include a signing bonus, housing assistance, and extension opportunities to continue the impactful work you’re passionate about. You’ll receive comprehensive support from a dedicated travel team, including 24/7 assistance while traveling with the company, ensuring your focus remains on patient care and professional success. The assignment details include Start Date: 03/02/2026, Duration: Weeks (multi-week engagement with potential extension), and Guaranteed Hours: 35.0 per week, with weekly pay ranging from $1,232 to $1,294.
