Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

Pay: $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year

Location: This position is based in Charlottesville, VA and is primarily on-site. We are looking for someone who wants to be an active part of the local office, team, and community.

Note: Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Virginia and have 2+ years of civil litigation experience.

Job Description

• Handle a wide range of civil litigation matters from case development through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, discovery responses, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and provide thoughtful analysis on case strategy and client matters.
• Participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Work closely with partners, associates, paralegals, and staff to move cases forward efficiently.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties in a professional and responsive manner.
• Support complex litigation strategy while continuing to develop your own litigation skills and judgment.
• Contribute to a professional, team-oriented environment that values integrity, hard work, and client service.

Qualifications

• Virginia Bar license required.
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience required.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Experience with pleadings, discovery, motions, hearings, depositions, or trial preparation.
• Ability to work well with attorneys, staff, clients, and outside parties.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional judgment.
• Hardworking, energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to high-quality legal work.
