About the Role

We’re hiring a Tax Staff Accountant to lead and support our growing bookkeeping team. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional with a passion for mentorship, process improvement, and leadership.

Our tax team is stretched thin — and we’re looking for someone to bridge the gap. You’ll help strengthen our bookkeeping department, improve workflows, and provide high-level support to both staff and clients.

This is not a remote position . You'll work onsite with a dynamic, engaged team — and help make our already-great office even better.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and mentor the bookkeeping team, serving as the go-to expert on processes and complex questions.

• Review bookkeeping work for accuracy, completeness, and tax-readiness.

• Develop and maintain SOPs and training materials for internal use.

• Provide elevated support to bookkeeping clients through direct communication and strategic insights.

• Collaborate with the tax team and assist with overflow during peak seasons (e.g., tax prep, client follow-ups).

• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and increased client satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of tax preparation experience in public accounting.

• 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop and related accounting tools.

• Prior leadership or team management experience (3+ years preferred).

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to coach, train, and build trust with both clients and staff.

• Experience in CFO-level oversight or analytical review is a strong plus.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

• A passion for mentoring and elevating team performance.
