We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in McLean, Virginia, on a contract basis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage and oversee key accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting functions, financial reporting, and reconciliation, with a strong background in government contracting.
Responsibilities:• Lead and oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
• Manage month-end and year-end financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare detailed financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy.
• Utilize Deltek Costpoint to support accounting functions and improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to U.S. government regulations and guidelines in financial processes.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for business decisions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting workflows and improve overall efficiency.
• Maintain documentation and records to support audits and compliance requirements.• Proven experience in full-cycle accounting, including AP and AR management.
• Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint and its application in accounting operations.
• Strong knowledge of month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation and resolving financial discrepancies.
• Familiarity with U.S. government regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
