Job Summary
T he Disk Archive Coordinator is responsible for managing the permanent archival of Multiclient seismic data volumes from Data Processing to WHSM disk storage. This role also includes creating and managing risk-management tape copies for offsite storage to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and long-term preservation.
Job Description
- Generate Omega2 jobs to archive seismic data volumes within required timelines
- Communicate with Data Processing and Asset Development to monitor and schedule data transfers
- Accurately describe and document data volumes using established naming conventions
- Prepare and submit Omega2 jobs to copy data to WHSM disk locations and create risk-management tape copies
- Monitor all jobs through successful completion and troubleshoot failures as needed
- Submit and follow up on support tickets when initial troubleshooting does not resolve issues
- Perform quality control in accordance with procedures, including time and depth slice QC
- Prepare and quality-check TAT and DAT files for both disk and tape copies
- Ensure GAT files and risk-management tapes are delivered to the Inventory Group for database loading
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date job status entries, including documentation of issues or delays
- Produce status and resource requirement reports upon request from supervisors or management
- Coordinate multiple archive jobs simultaneously, ensuring all work progresses according to schedule
- Interact with clients as required, maintaining strong professional relationships and high service standards
- Follow all procedures, work instructions, and naming conventions; review regularly and recommend improvements
- Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned by the group leader
S kills Required
- 3-5 years of experience in Data Processing, infield QC, or navigation preferred
- Customer relations experience preferred but not required
- Strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Intermediate Linux skills required
- Highly organized, disciplined, and detail-oriented
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under time constraints
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and client service skills
- Shift: 8-5 M-F
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
Pay Rate
- $20 per hour and higher depending on experience
