Virginia Travel Nursing Job Details

• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel RN)
• Unit: Women's Health Unit (Medical/Surgical)
• Number of Beds: 15
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00-07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 8/18/2025, End: 11/17/2025)
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday nights)
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Staffing: 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT) per shift
• Floating: As needed across hospital units
• Dress Code: Navy Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Virginia or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Women's health nursing experience preferred
• Experience with bladder challenges and vaginal packing preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and weekends
• Strong communication and clinical documentation skills
• Comfortable with floating to other hospital units

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in the Women's Health Medical/Surgical Unit
• Ensure patient safety through hourly rounds and bedside shift reports
• Utilize Meditech for accurate and timely healthcare documentation
• Perform unit-specific procedures including bladder challenges and vaginal packing
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and patients using iMobile phones
• Enhance patient experience using communication best practices and whiteboards
• Float to other units as needed to support hospital operations
