We're Hiring: Compliance Officer / HR Specialist
Full-Time | Mental Health Agency | Norfolk, VA
Are you a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of mental health regulations and HR best practices? We're looking for a Compliance Officer/HR Specialist to join our team and help us continue delivering exceptional services while staying in full compliance with all regulatory and employment standards.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure agency-wide compliance with DMAS and DBHDS regulations
- Stay current on and enforce all state and federal employment laws
- Oversee HR functions, including onboarding, policy development, orientations, and employee relations
- Conduct internal audits and training to maintain regulatory readiness
- Collaborate with leadership to continuously improve compliance and HR processes
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance and/or HR within a behavioral health or healthcare setting
- In-depth knowledge of DMAS , DBHDS , and Medicaid-related insurance regulations
- Strong understanding of employment law (federal and state)
- Ability to implement policies, manage personnel records, and lead internal reviews
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
