Senior GovCon Client Services Accountant | Outsourced Accounting

Remote | Full-Time

About the Role:
Kachadorian Consulting is seeking a hands-on Senior GovCon Client Services Accountant to own and perform the full accounting cycle and serve as the primary accounting contact for a portfolio of clients. This role combines day-to-day accounting execution, financial reporting, client communication, and advisory support in a fast-paced outsourced accounting environment.

This position requires practical Government Contracting (GovCon) accounting experience, including FAR compliance, indirect rate structures, cost accounting, and DCAA-related requirements. Candidates must have prior hands-on GovCon accounting experience, as foundational GovCon training is not provided for this position.

This position requires someone who can independently take ownership of client relationships, prioritize competing deadlines, and consistently deliver accurate results without close supervision.

Key Responsibilities
Own the full accounting cycle for multiple clients, including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, payroll coordination, AP/AR oversight, and financial reporting.
Serve as the primary accounting contact for assigned clients, owning deliverables, deadlines, and ongoing communication.
Prepare accurate financial statements and provide meaningful analysis and recommendations.
Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and other financial management activities.
Maintain compliance with GAAP, FAR cost principles, and GovCon accounting requirements.
Track and report allowable and unallowable costs and support indirect rate calculations, including fringe, overhead, and G&A rates.
Assist with DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions, and compliance-related reporting.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and client outcomes.
Successfully manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines in a remote environment.

Qualifications

Required:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience with responsibility for full-cycle accounting.
Hands-on Government Contracting (GovCon) accounting experience.
Strong understanding of FAR Part 31 cost principles and indirect rate structures.
Experience supporting DCAA audits, incurred cost submissions, or compliance-related reporting.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Client-facing experience with the ability to explain financial information clearly and professionally.
Ability to independently manage a portfolio of clients while meeting competing deadlines.

Preferred:
Experience managing multiple entities, clients, or business units simultaneously in an outsourced accounting, consulting, or similar environment.
Experience owning client relationships and serving as the primary accounting contact.
Experience with PROCAS and/or Unanet.

Compensation:
$85,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
