As carpenter, will assist in completing on-site work as necessary and will be responsible for a wide range of activities that support field operations with direct reporting to the Director of Field Operations and Project Superintendent.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs physical construction carpentry duties. Duties may vary according to job assignment. Thinks clearly, no matter the stress or difficulty of circumstances. Interacts with public, supervisors, and coworkers professionally at all times. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to obtain O.S.H.A. 10 Certificate.
- Transportation to and from job locations required.
- Must have at least 1 year of general commercial carpentry experience.
- Layout/line/grade a plus
- Proficient in reading blueprints a plus
- Must have good interpersonal skills, desire to learn, ability to communicate well
- Work effectively as an individual and as an integral part of a team and the ability to multi-task
- Operate hand and power tools associated with the carpentry trade and perform interior, exterior, carpentry work involved in the commercial construction, renovation, repair and general maintenance of buildings and facilities.
- Rough framing, blocking, trim and siding, interior trim, casework and countertop installation, drywall, taping and painting and miscellaneous flooring and ceiling work, door frame installation, hang doors and set hardware.
- Plan reading and the ability to follow plans and specifications.
- Take-off and order materials for work to be completed.
- Installation of building accessories.
- Maintain and service tools and equipment.
- Assist project Superintendents and/or project as needed and monitor projects and work by subcontractors for adherence to Landry/French safety policy, plans and specifications, and state and federal requirements and report back to supervisor.
- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
- Other work as may be assigned.
- Regular and timely attendance is essential and hours must conform to the company’s operating hours. Appropriate personal safety equipment is supplied.
