Registered Nurse (RN) | Correctional Facility

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our correctional facility team. Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories, to determine immediate and ongoing healthcare needs.
• Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform wound care such as suturing and ostomy management following aseptic techniques.
• Manage acute pain and provide emergency response care, including airway management and ventilator support when necessary.
• Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Cerner or Athenahealth, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers for diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, radiology (e.g., CT scans), and specialist referrals in areas like cardiology or ophthalmology.
• Implement infection control protocols and maintain sterile processing standards to prevent disease transmission within the facility.
• Educate inmates on health promotion, medication adherence, chronic disease management (including diabetes and cardiovascular conditions), and mental health support.
